This is not a tested theory, but rather one that I can safely assume would be the case: women probably don't appreciate being wooed by a man's belief in a mystical hairy fella running around some woods in North America.
Just as cladograms detailing the evolutionary line of extinct animals do not excite people as much as they excite me, I highly doubt that my tales of mid-tarsal breaks and dermal ridge orientation would hook the attention of a woman in a library, let alone a bar.
To be quite honest, I was hit on in a bar not too long ago - a week or so past, I reckon. In retrospect, it was my fault I didn't successfully woo her! She seemed like a perfectly lovely fresher, albeit very forward with her whole "You're a third year? You should by me a drink then" approach. With the benefit of hindsight, I wish that I'd told her "Yes, but only if you give me a kiss first" rather than "Not right now, maybe find me later?"
Then again, I also wish that I could resurrect dinosaurs and recreate Jurassic Park, so perhaps it's best my wishes don't come true.

Stars in Their Aisles!
My childhood can now pass peacefully into eternal rest! Let me explain:
Growing up, my house was somewhat typical of the time: Bullseye and Blankety Blank (which, for some reason, my parents weren't too pleased with me watching) dominated the family television, along with other legends of broadcasting, such as Stars in Their Eyes.
Today I saw Matthew Kelly, knocking about around Sainsburys. I didn't quite dare ask for a photograph, since he seemed pretty happy wandering about the vegetable aisle in sweet anonymity, but I could tell fro looking at him that beneath his scarf and beanie hat, this was the man who made every child dream of stardom.
Also, I didn't see him anywhere near the childrens' magazines or sweet shelves, so I think we can put that defaming rumour to rest as well. Although, not next to my childhood, if that's okay - I wouldn't particularly trust it.

There's a Waffle in the Oven
It's past midnight, I'm playing Halo: Reach with my housemate and, despite the fact that we have an important lecture in the morning, I have put a waffle in the oven. Not even sure if there's any ketchup to go with it, but I'm a food maverick!
Still, probably not doing anything for the sterotype attatched to students.

Knight Falls (Poem)
I wrote a poem today. Guess who it refers to.
Before we met I'd never felt
A woman who made my heart melt,
A love so solid, pure and right
You said I was your knight of light.
But now you're gone nobility
Has left, the pain is killing me.
They say that ignorance is bliss;
But truth dictates bliss is amiss.
For though I crave normality,
The flower withers; clarity!
For now I know what I must do
In order to get over you:
Break down the pedestal of love,
Turn my back, my turtle dove;
This knight of light who once stood tall
Now turns to night as darkness falls.
A woman who made my heart melt,
A love so solid, pure and right
You said I was your knight of light.
But now you're gone nobility
Has left, the pain is killing me.
They say that ignorance is bliss;
But truth dictates bliss is amiss.
For though I crave normality,
The flower withers; clarity!
For now I know what I must do
In order to get over you:
Break down the pedestal of love,
Turn my back, my turtle dove;
This knight of light who once stood tall
Now turns to night as darkness falls.

Stage Fright!
Having visited Beckii today and read through the script for Everyday Life: Live together, I feel a lot better about going into production! My confidence about my singing voice and writing abilities has been dealt a huge boost and, more importantly, Beckii has become the latest cast member; Emmeline!
Naturally, I'm still absolutely bricking it for the day of production, but I'm a lot more relaxed than I was. I guess we'll have to see what I'm like when I'm stood in front of 112 people in just my underwear...and a sock.

Publish That! - Pilot Episode
With the inevitable conclusion of Everyday Life drawing ever nearer, the time has come to look for a webshow to succeed the old favourite. Much more realistic, longer-running episodes and a whole new bunch of characters; all of these things belong to a new, exciting project that will begin at University and continue on for (hopefully) a long time afterwards: Publish That!, a sit-com centred around a group of students who run a University newspaper; The Student Standard.
The pilot episode; which introduces the characters and themes of the series, is to be written, shot and edited as part of my media production course at De Montfort University. Should it be recieved well, then the series will grow from there, taking the characters on a myriad of journalistic journies and media misery!
To reitterate, Publish That! will be unlike anything I have created before, being much more ambitious and detailed than Everyday Life ever was! Look forward to the pilot episode in mid-2012 on WaltonFilmsOfficial!

Final Year Project
Hmmmm.
So we've been advised to think of an idea for our final year project before the end of the summer holidays, yet because this is so important I've decided to go for a head start. I mean, this project will be a testament to seven years of education in Film and Media; not only that, but a future example of who I am as a film maker. Sorry to sound so pretentious, but this film will BE John Walton. I have, as you see, decided at least to make a film!
My first idea is about my new project, "Publish That!", but even so, it divides into a couple of prospective ideas:
+ Episode Pilot.
+ Short film special.
Then again, knowing me I'll probably come up with another idea at the last minute! Oh well, just have to mull it over a little longer!
