My childhood can now pass peacefully into eternal rest! Let me explain:
Growing up, my house was somewhat typical of the time: Bullseye and Blankety Blank (which, for some reason, my parents weren't too pleased with me watching) dominated the family television, along with other legends of broadcasting, such as Stars in Their Eyes.
Today I saw Matthew Kelly, knocking about around Sainsburys. I didn't quite dare ask for a photograph, since he seemed pretty happy wandering about the vegetable aisle in sweet anonymity, but I could tell fro looking at him that beneath his scarf and beanie hat, this was the man who made every child dream of stardom.
Also, I didn't see him anywhere near the childrens' magazines or sweet shelves, so I think we can put that defaming rumour to rest as well. Although, not next to my childhood, if that's okay - I wouldn't particularly trust it.
